If we keep CGM one more year after this one, I think you might see an amazing offensive recruiting class come in. The ball gets distributed and it's all predicated on power and ferocity up front and speed on the edge. Tailbacks, quarterbacks, and wide receivers alike will be begging and pleading to play in this system.

We just really need that Coach that is studying GM and learning how to execute his offense. I love that his offense has the ability to adjust to the talent that is available and not limited.

I love it too. To be able to change around the way you do things to from year to year to fit the players you have is a great thing to have in college football. Not many teams can say or do that. I think this year if Trotter is in fact the starter, we'll see something in the mix of 2009 and 2010. Basically the way it looked with Chris Todd only more runs from the QB. It should be another exciting year on offense. WDE

so thought I'd jump in the new site/conversation.
Speaking of CGM, I don't think CGC is studying how to be an OC - but I sure hope he's searching for his next OC, 'cause CGM isn't gonna be here much longer, I'm afraid. Sure, I'd love for him to settle into this job and stay with CGC forever, but that won't happen. I believe CGC is a very practical man, and should already have begun a plan to replace him - if not with a disciple, with someone who has the same outlook and devotion and creativity and planning and... Man, he really is going to be tough to replace. He's just a mad scientist, he loves to make new things up, find a new angle to attack a defense. The bottom line, as I see his thinking, is to confuse the defense about the final point of attack with the ball. When they've got to cover more than one or two things, their focus and strength are fractured. All it takes is a crack, and our speed guys are gone! I have NO idea who the next OC would be. Any of you know a likely candidate? (I'm saying this hoping the need is years away...)
(BTW, I don't know how to do those great avatars 'n' pictures 'n' emoticons 'n' stuff - sorry)

I hope the CK sweepstakes ends today. I want him to be sure, but I also want this to be over soon.

68~ I agree 100% with you on CGM and the emphasis behind his scheme, but the way he looked talking to Kiehl on the phone..........I'm not so sure he's going anywhere in the next three years. He's been recruiting Kiehl since the 8th grade. Here's the way I see it going down. Kiehl fits CGM offense so good and with the top notch O-linemen we've signed, by 2012 I think AU's O will be running 80+ plays a game and running at the speed CGM wants to run. He's bound to leave at some point but I've got a gut feeling. War Eagle!

inoh~me too brother. I just want it to be over so Cyrus and his family along with all colleges in the mix can move on. But he needs to make the right decision and I can understand the time he needs to take. WDE!

Ocho, I think your right about CGM. He's trying to build an offense that can run his offense like none before could. He's hand picking the players he needs to put it together and CGC is giving him every bit of support he can to get it done. I don't think 80 plays is the target though. I think he's looking for 90 or even 100.

100 plays would be redonkulous......lol. If AU was able to run 100 plays in a game, how many plays do you think that opposing team would run. 20? Can't wait to find out. WDE
